Reynolds appealed her sentence to the Fifth Circuit, challenging the drug quantity determination and the career offender classification; the court affirmed on August 3, 2017 (No. 16-10676). On January 15, 2026, President Trump commuted the remaining custodial portion of Reynolds's sentence. The commutation left the underlying conviction intact and preserved the supervised release requirement.
