Angela Wannette Cupit, 41, was part of a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy prosecuted in the Northern District of Texas. Original sentence
Sentenced on January 15, 2016 by U.S. District Judge John McBryde to 360 months' (30 years') imprisonment and four years' supervised release. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn Smith of the Northern District of Texas.
On January 15, 2026 — exactly ten years to the day after her sentencing — President Trump commuted the remaining custodial portion of Cupit's sentence. The commutation left the underlying conviction intact and preserved the supervised release requirement.
