Christopher Moynihan

On January 6, 2021, Moynihan entered the Senate floor of the Capitol. Video captured inside showed him reviewing and photographing official congressional documents believed to detail objections and votes on the certification of electoral results, while standing on the Senate dais. He can be heard on video saying "There's got to be something we can use against these f***ing scumbags." Two witnesses subsequently identified him to the FBI. He was convicted at a stipulated bench trial on August 23, 2022 of obstruction of an official proceeding, and pleaded guilty on the same date to five additional counts: entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building, entering and remaining on the floor of Congress, disorderly conduct in a Capitol building, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building.
