Darryl Strawberry, Sr.

Darryl Strawberry was an eight-time MLB All-Star outfielder, best known for his years with the New York Mets and New York Yankees. He pleaded guilty in February 1995 to one federal count of income tax evasion, admitting he had failed to report approximately $350,000 in income earned from autograph signings, memorabilia sales, card shows, and other personal promotional appearances between 1986 and 1990 — resulting in more than $100,000 in unpaid federal taxes. As part of his plea agreement, he agreed to pay more than $430,000 in back taxes and penalties.
