Edward Francisco Rodriguez

Edward Francisco Rodriguez, 26, of Brooklyn, New York, became known by the online nickname "SuitMacer" after video surfaced showing him, dressed in a dark suit and carrying a "Stop the Steal" sign, point a canister at law enforcement officers manning a barricade on the lower-level terrace of the U.S. Capitol's west side during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot and spray them with a chemical irritant before retreating into the crowd. He pleaded guilty to one felony charge, assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers using a dangerous weapon and inflicting bodily injury, with other charges dismissed. He was sentenced on 11/6/2023 to 36 months of incarceration, 36 months of supervised release, and a $100 special assessment.
