Convicted of
Glenn Allen Brooks, a home remodeling contractor from Huntington Beach, California, was identified after a member of his church prayer text group alerted the FBI to an incriminating selfie he sent showing himself inside the Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot. He pleaded not guilty and was convicted by a jury on May 10, 2024 of four misdemeanors, including entering a restricted building and disorderly conduct. He was sentenced on Sept. 13, 2024 to six months in prison, 12 months of supervised release, a $2,000 fine, $500 in restitution, and 60 hours of community service; he later said he was "forcibly awakened and removed from prison" for Trump's pardon, which he did not want, and unsuccessfully petitioned the courts to let him clear his name through the legal process instead, a request the Supreme Court declined in March 2026.
Original sentence
Sentenced on 9/13/2024 to 6 months incarceration; 12 months supervised release; restitution of $500; a fine of $2,000; special assessment of $150; 60 hours of community service.
