HC
Howard Charles Richardson
Convicted of
Howard Charles Richardson, 71, of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, traveled to Washington, D.C. for the Jan. 6, 2021 rally carrying a flagpole bearing a Trump flag, which he later used as a weapon, approaching a police officer stationed behind bicycle-rack barricades, yelling "Here it comes!" and striking the officer three times with the metal pole; he never entered the Capitol building itself, but prosecutors said his assault on the officer warranted a lengthy prison term. He pleaded guilty to one charge, assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, with other charges, including civil disorder, dismissed. He was sentenced on 8/26/2022 to 46 months of incarceration, three years of supervised release, $2,000 in restitution, and a $100 special assessment.
