Convicted of
John Lolos, 48, of Washington state, entered the U.S. Capitol through a broken window and spent nearly 45 minutes inside during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, filming himself shouting "They left, we did it" as he exited the building. He pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, with other charges dismissed. In the first Jan. 6 sentencing of its kind, the judge told Lolos, "I think you are a pawn. You are a pawn in a game played by people who should have known better," placing blame on the elected officials who summoned the crowd to Washington. He was sentenced on 11/19/2021 to 14 days of incarceration, a $10 special assessment, and $500 in restitution.
