Julie Chrisley

Julie Chrisley, a reality television personality known for the USA Network show Chrisley Knows Best, was convicted in June 2022 on all counts of a federal superseding indictment including conspiracy to commit bank fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit tax evasion, and obstruction of justice. She and her husband Todd conspired to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans by submitting false financial documents — including fabricated bank statements and fake financial records — to obtain loans which were then spent on cars, clothing, real estate, and travel, with new loans taken out to repay old ones. In the tax evasion strand of the scheme, the Chrisleys funneled Todd's income through accounts in Julie's name and transferred funds to family members to conceal income from the IRS. Their accountant, Peter Tarantino, was also convicted for his role in filing false tax returns.
