Day 1 of term →
Convicted of
Lawrence Earl Stackhouse, 33, of Blackwood, New Jersey, who had texted a friend the week before asking about joining the Proud Boys, wore a Proud Boys hoodie as he followed the mob past the Capitol's smashed windows and through the kicked-in door of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot; he was identified after coworkers noted he had called out of work on January 5 and 6. He pleaded guilty to one charge, parading, demonstrating, or picketing in a Capitol building, with other charges, including violent entry and disorderly conduct, dismissed. Judge Beryl Howell sentenced him on 6/17/2022 to 36 months of probation, including 14 days of intermittent confinement and 90 days of home confinement, a $10 special assessment, and $500 in restitution — less than half the 45-day jail term prosecutors had sought.
