Luke Hoffman, of Dover, Kentucky, grabbed and yanked away a segment of metal security fencing officers were trying to reposition during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, sprayed pepper spray back at an officer who had used it on him, and then joined other rioters attacking police on the Lower West Terrace for more than 20 minutes. He was arrested on July 12, 2023 and pleaded guilty on April 4, 2024 to two felony counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, and $2,000 in restitution.
