Date pardoned
20 January 2025
Day 1 of term →
Convicted of
Michael "Whip" Greene, a U.S. Army combat engineer veteran and former Blackwater contractor, was brought on by Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes days before Jan. 6, 2021 to serve as the militia's operations leader, participated in a Nov. 9, 2020 online meeting where Rhodes outlined a plan to stop the transfer of power, and transported firearms and ammunition to Washington in early January 2021 before entering restricted Capitol grounds during the riot. He pleaded not guilty; a jury acquitted him of two conspiracy counts and evidence tampering, hung on a felony obstruction count that prosecutors declined to retry, and convicted him only of unlawfully entering and remaining on Capitol grounds. U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, finding the evidence against him "far too circumstantial" to warrant prison time, sentenced him to two years of probation and 60 hours of community service.
Original sentence
Sentenced on 7/21/2023 to 24 months probation; 60 hours of community service; $25 special assessment.
