Robert Wayne Dennis

Robert Wayne Dennis, 63, a comic book artist from Garland, Texas, deliberately climbed Capitol steps at about 2:51 p.m. on Jan. 6, 2021 and assaulted a line of officers; after one officer used a baton to push him back, Dennis attacked again, throwing punches at an officer during a violent struggle on the ground. He pleaded not guilty and was found guilty at a bench trial in January 2023 on six counts, including civil disorder and two counts of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers. He was sentenced on April 13, 2023 to 36 months in prison, 24 months of supervised release, and $2,000 in restitution.
