Trump issued a full pardon to former Virginia sheriff Scott Jenkins, who had been convicted of accepting over $75,000 in bribes in exchange for appointing individuals as auxiliary deputy sheriffs.
Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares, a Republican, publicly criticised Trump's pardon of Jenkins, saying "Given what I know, I would not have pardoned him."
