Convicted of
Stephanie M. Hazelton, 51, of Medford, New Jersey, a prominent anti-vaccine activist who also goes by the name Ayla Wolf, acted as what prosecutors called "a commander on the battlefield" during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot, marshaling rioters toward the tunnel entrance on the Capitol's Lower West Terrace and waving more people forward from outside the tunnel to join those pushing against police, though she did not enter the Capitol or assault officers herself. She pleaded guilty to a felony count of interfering with law enforcement officers during a civil disorder. A federal judge, rejecting prosecutors' request for an 11-month sentence and citing her remorse, sentenced her to 10 days in prison, 90 days of home detention, two years of supervised release, and $2,000 in restitution.
Original sentence
Sentenced on 6/1/2023 to 10 days incarceration; 90 days location monitoring; 24 months of supervised release; Special Assessment of $100; Restitution of $2,000.
