Taranto was spotted lurking near the Takoma Park, Maryland home of Democratic Rep. Jamie Raskin, who served on the Jan. 6 House Select Committee. Law enforcement urged Trump-appointed Judge Carl Nichols to immediately jail him. Capitol Police escorted Raskin home after he briefed colleagues, and his security detail was increased.

The DOJ formally asked Judge Carl Nichols to rejail Taranto following his appearance near Raskin's home. The judge declined to act immediately but ordered Taranto to return to his Washington state home and barred him from D.C. until after the new year. A probation hearing was set for December 10, with the judge warning he was prepared to incarcerate Taranto if court orders were violated.
