Tyler Bensch
pardonJ6 / Capitol
Convicted of
Tyler Bensch, a member of the right-wing "B Squad" militia (a subgroup of the Three Percenter movement) who told the FBI the group trained in firearms and hand-to-hand combat ahead of Jan. 6, helped carry a stolen police riot shield away from the Capitol grounds during the Jan. 6, 2021 riot. He pleaded guilty to disorderly and disruptive conduct on restricted grounds and theft of government property. Though prosecutors sought nine months in federal prison, the judge — who said Bensch, who aspired to become a police officer, did not deserve that sentence — imposed two years of probation and 60 days of home incarceration.
